She was born and raised in Puerto Rico and came to the United States to pursue her passion as an artist. She was trained at the Rhode Island School of Design
(RISD) where she received her MFA in Jewelry & Metals. She currently resides in Kansas City, MO where she actively creates jewelry in her studio and teaches jewelry workshops.
Her jewelry and clothing was featured again this summer at the
18th St. Fashion Show and her work is currently showcased at the
Kemper Museum Shop and
Tallulahbelle's She was also awarded an Inspiration Grant from
ArtsKC and her story was featured on
Que Pasa KC on KCTV 5.Cheryl has shown nationally in Santa Fe, Chicago, and Providence, RI, among other cities and internationally in Korea,
Italy, and Germany. Her work has been published in several books such as the
500 Earrings,
Stitched Jewels, Art Jewelry magazine and she has published her own book
Hidden in Nature in 2009.
She also recently launched a Kickstarter project.
