Art FOR A CAUSE

About the Project: “Art for a Cause” is a mission-driven initiative started by Latina artist Cheryl Eve Acosta with a passion for making a difference. In solidarity with the ongoing recovery efforts in Puerto Rico, a native herself, the artist crafted a special edition "Love Puerto Rico" necklace (suggested donation $90) in sterling silver when Hurricane Maria first hit the island. As part of Cheryl Eve’s ongoing support and dedication, proceeds from each necklace and heart earrings sold will go towards supporting the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF), an organization dedicated to assisting artists and artisans during times of crisis. The non-profit also provides emergency resources supporting the creative economy and educating the native of Puerto Rico.

The "Love Puerto Rico" Necklace represents hope, solidarity, and love for a community in need with Puerto Rican roots. Crafted with care and attention to detail, this 18" chain, sterling silver necklace features the iconic shape of the island, infused with the essence of love and support for its people. By wearing this jewel, you will adorn yourself with a meaningful piece of art that also contributes to the welfare of Puerto Rico's artistic community. How Your Donation Helps: Every dollar donated (minus costs of fabrication) through the purchase of the "Love Puerto Rico" necklace and/or “Love Earrings” will directly benefit CERF's efforts in supporting artists affected by disasters, including recent and future challenges faced on the island. CERF provides financial assistance, resources, and support to artists to help them recover and rebuild their creative practices in the aftermath of disasters. The organization also offers grants for equipment and materials assistance in need while also educating artists on the island.
